Ok, so picture this. You saw a post for a casting session. You applied for the job and get a casting session, what happens next? Well, this all depends on the type of job and the studio.
Our partners over at GAY STUDIO VN have told us what happens when you are invited to a casting session…
During covid, we have been running online, casting sessions. We hope to continue these to enable us to atract more guys. But we will also be holding in-person casting sessions too. So here’s what to expect when we invite you.
First, we check your ID. We want to ensure that you are over the age of 18 from the moment you apply and so this ensures that you are who you say you are, you are over 18 and ensures that we adhere to the laws of the United Kingdom and most of the world. It is an illegal offence for anyone under the age of 18 to take part in any form of pornography.
Once your ID is all confirmed, we will then ask you to sign a standard model release form. This just states that you are happy to be filmed, photographed or recorded on some other way during the casting session and goes into details as to how we might use any photos or video footage. As a model, you ofcourse can stipulate how too so if you don’t want us using images for marketing, then we wont.
We then take you into a filmed interview. This serves two purposes. The first is so that we can watch back over the footage and take notes, the second is to see how you are in front of the lenses. We will just ask a little about you, your hobbies, likes, dislikes, ask about your experiences (both sexual and non-sexual) and also about what you are wanting to get from the experience. We will then go onto more in-depth discussions about the type of film/media we are wanting to make and to see if that is something you would be comfortable with. It’s ok if your not. We want you to be as open as possible and if your not comfortable, thats absolutley fine, that’s what these casting sessions are for.
So, now we have gotten to know you. We then tell you about our studio process for filming any media. This includes how many people may be in the room at any time, the types of locations we look for and use and so on. O average, we only have 2 people in the room filming plus the models but we can reduce this to just one depending on the scene.
At this stage, we would then ask you if you are happy to proceed further. If not, that’s fine and we say good bye. If you are happy to proceed, we then go through to our studio. Within the studio room, we take a few sample profile images of you. These are for both head-shots and also again to see how you act infront of the camera and if you can take direction. We will ask you to remove your clothing for parts of this and take full nude images, however as ever if at any point you feel uncomfortable, we will stop straight away and you can get fully clothed.
We would normally after the full set of images, then ask you to partake in a short acting reel. This would be again filmed either solo or with one of our models / producers. This may include some physical touching however, this will be kept to a minimum but may include kissing, and the touching of genitals. This is to again see how you react to the camera and interact with others. Again, if at any point you feel uncormartable and wish to stop, that would be absolutley fine.
Once we are happy with what has been captured, we then take you into our editing suite where you can see a copy of the images and any video of the day. You will be given the chance to take home a few images for free as a thank you for coming down, so ensure you bring a USB memory drive. We do keep a few spares on site at just £5.00cost.
Once you are gone, we then review your day with us and send you an email within 72 hours letting you know if we would like to work with you. The main thing that will affect your chances is yoru attitude. We would want to work with guys that are open, honest, non-abrupt and easy to work with. If you are the sort of person who has the attitude of a spoilt brat, the chances are youll be unsucsessful.
